The combination of amlodipine, hydrochlorothiazide, and valsartan in this tablet has a synergistic effect on lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, increases urinary excretion of sodium and water, which decreases blood volume and reduces blood pressure. Valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), blocks the binding of angiotensin II to its receptors, resulting in vasodilation, reduced vasopressor activity, and decreased aldosterone secretion, ultimately leading to lower blood pressure.
