Aspirin 75mg and Clopidogrel 75mg Tablet both play crucial roles in inhibiting platelet aggregation, thereby reducing the risk of blood clots. Aspirin irreversibly inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) in platelets, preventing the production of thromboxane A2, a potent inducer of platelet aggregation and vasoconstriction. This inhibition makes platelets less sticky and less likely to form clots. On the other hand, Clopidogrel is a prodrug that requires activation by liver enzymes to form its active metabolite. This active metabolite irreversibly inhibits the P2Y12 receptor on platelets, leading to reduced activation and aggregation of platelets.
