It is also effective in treating symptoms of allergic skin reactions, including hives, and itching associated with chronic urticaria. It is a second-generation antihistamine, meaning it has a reduced sedative effect compared to first-generation antihistamines, making it suitable for daytime use without causing significant drowsiness.
