Maxogest Tablet 10 is primarily used to manage amenorrhoea, a condition characterised by the absence of menstrual periods. It's part of a group of medicines known as progestins, which are synthetic forms of the naturally occurring female hormone progesterone.
In addition to amenorrhea, this medicine is also used to address abnormal uterine bleeding due to hormonal imbalance and endometriosis. By replacing natural progesterone, it helps slow down the growth of the endometrium (uterine lining), reducing excessive bleeding. It's also utilized in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for menopausal women to alleviate symptoms like hot flashes and prevent endometrial hyperplasia.
