Description

Cinnarizine's primary mechanism of action is as a calcium channel blocker, particularly in the vestibular system and within the inner ear. It acts by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into cells, which subsequently reduces the activity of vestibular hair cells and diminishes the excitatory signals transmitted to the brain's vomiting center. This action helps to alleviate symptoms associated with motion sickness and vertigo by suppressing the abnormal firing of neurons in the vestibular system, thereby reducing the sensation of spinning or dizziness. Additionally, cinnarizine's antiemetic effect may be attributed to its ability to block histamine and muscarinic receptors in the brain, further contributing to its therapeutic benefits in managing motion-related disorders.

Composition
Each tablet contains:

  • Cinnarizine: 25 mg
