Viglip-M is a fixed-dose combination of Vildagliptin (50 mg) and Metformin Hydrochloride (850 mg) used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It combines a DPP‑4 inhibitor (Vildagliptin) with a biguanide (Metformin) through two complementary mechanisms: Vildagliptin enhances the body‘s own ability to lower blood sugar by increasing insulin secretion and decreasing glucagon, while Metformin reduces glucose production in the liver, decreases intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity

  • Dual‑Action Blood Sugar Control: Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity, while Vildagliptin enhances incretin hormone activity to stimulate insulin secretion and suppress glucagon release
  • Improves Glycemic Control: Helps lower both fasting and post‑prandial blood glucose levels, reducing HbA1c when diet and exercise alone are insufficient
