Description

Wegovy (semaglutide) is a prescription GLP‑1 receptor agonist for chronic weight management in adults and adolescents (12 years and older with body weight >60 kg) who have obesity (BMI ≥30 kg/m²) or are overweight (BMI ≥27 kg/m²) with at least one weight‑related comorbidity such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes, or dyslipidemia. It is also indicated together with diet and exercise to reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (cardiovascular death, non‑fatal myocardial infarction, or non‑fatal stroke) in adults with established cardiovascular disease and either obesity or overweight (BMI ≥27 kg/m²).
